Richard joined Gleave Partnership in 1997 as a young Quantity Surveyor working predominantly in the UK and Ireland on Retail Developments, progressing to leading QS Teams within the business. Richard had the fortune of working along side the founder Robert H Gleave and Peter Taylor for a number of those early years and felt that exposure to such great individuals and characters helped shape his career. After becoming a Board Director in 2005 at a fairly young age, he developed his skill set into Project Management on large Developments and Gleave continued to grow in size and stature within the industry. Richard was elected our CEO in 2024 by the current Board and his drive, ethos and considered judgement help to promote the everyday qualities our colleagues continually display.

Matt is a commercially attuned, Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) with almost 20 years of experience across the built environment. He has worked with a wide range of global, blue-chip clients across sectors including retail, residential, distribution and logistics, and more recently, data centres.

Matt brings strong commercial and strategic insight to his role as Director, contributing to the strategic direction of the business while supporting the successful delivery of complex, high-profile programmes. He has held secondment roles within both cost management and PMO functions, where he is recognised for his collaborative approach, technical accuracy, and ability to deliver best practice. He also provides clear, portfolio-level reporting to support informed decision-making.
